The only way to reduce your digital footprint is to create an online identity that contains only what you are willing to share with the world. You have to realize that what you put online is going to be accessible and there is no way to completely remove it. Even that is not going to keep you from having a presence. You can be tagged in someone else’s photo. Anyone you do business with can keep electronic records on you even if you do not participate. The solution is to limit how much information you give up willingly, this way at least it makes it a bit harder to collect information on you. Use VPN services and private browsers. Use a P.O. Box instead of your home address. Don’t use social media. Buy a pre-paid phone and don’t use the internet on it. Be selective about what you share and remember, don’t make it easy
